You are right Tobi, when doing an in-place upgrade we should always go up one version at a time. We are just suggesting that you don&#039;t stop at the next version up but continue to upgrade, therefore skipping a version :-)

Of course, in-place upgrades are only one option open to people that have this issue. You could rebuild or replace the server directly using Debian 11 either storing things in /home or restoring from backups as needed.
